See how QuickBooks apps can automate work tasks and save you time running your business!

Here’s what’s new in U.S. QuickBooks Online apps.

Featured QuickBooks app: Bill.com

bill-comBill.com offers two killer features — the ability to set up recurring invoices for a customer, and better yet, getting those invoices automatically paid with electronic payments. Once you set up recurring invoices, you can avoid re-keying the same monthly invoices. The AutoPay feature gets you paid faster by automatically collecting payments from customers by ACH or credit card.

You can create recurring invoices a certain number of days in advance of the due date. We suggest at least 10 days before the due date so the payer has time to either send payment or make sure the funds will be available for Auto Pay. Select the No End Date checkbox to make your invoices recurring. Send your invoices by email so customers can see your invoices instantly and pay online.

When you set up AutoPay, you can accept payments by credit card or by a direct deposit from your customer’s bank account with ACH. The fastest, easiest way to get paid electronically is by ACH, and it only costs $0.49 per transaction. With this option, you essentially create a recurring direct deposit. You also have the option of charging by credit card where you will be charged the lowest merchant rate with Bill.com’s approved merchant processor, Vantage Card Services/PayTrace.

With recurring invoices and Autopay, you can rake in your receivables 2-3 times faster compared to paper invoices. Just set it and forget it. Bill.com also syncs seamlessly with QuickBooks Online and eliminates double data entry so your books stay up to date.

Updates to existing QuickBooks apps

quickbooks paypal app Sync with PayPal
Over the past few months, we improved how we import PayPal transactions into QuickBooks. These improvements save you time, by reducing the number of transactions you need to manually handle!

  • Adjustment lines. In the past, we wouldn’t import transactions that didn’t have full transaction details from PayPal. Now, we’ll import these transactions and specify a “PayPal Adjustment” item where needed. Read how to review all PayPal adjustment line transactions for more details.
  • Alerts and notifications. We do a better job of letting you know of changes to your PayPal connection, by displaying important notifications and messages on the Transactions > Sales page. This helps to ensure your sync runs correctly.
  • Customer names. We can now import customer transactions with longer customer names. If a transaction doesn’t include customer details, we’ll use a default PayPal Customer; if a matching customer isn’t found, QuickBooks creates a new customer based on the information from PayPal. You can configure how this works on the App Settings page for Sync with PayPal.
