When you download most QuickBooks products, you receive the same full working version of software you would purchase in the store or by phone, with the option to download other extras (templates, manuals, etc.) separately, at your convenience. Q: How do I download QuickBooks?
A:

  1. Click the Download link on the Thank You page after completing checkout online or in
    MY DOWNLOADS.
  2. Click "Save."
  3. On the Save As screen, choose a place on your computer where you would like to save your downloaded file. We recommend saving to your desktop.
  4. Click "Save."
  5. Double-click the downloaded program file to begin installation.

Q: What if I need to stop the download or the transfer is interrupted?
A:
QuickBooks utilizes download manager technology. If you wish to stop the download, simply hit the "Pause" button or exit the download. The download manager will ask if you want to resume the download later - answer "Yes". Regardless of whether you paused the download intentionally or the download was interrupted, you can always resume the download by double-clicking the "Setup QuickBooks..." icon on your desktop.

Q: What can I do if I am unable to download?
A:
If you are unable to download, temporarily disable any firewalls, anti-virus software, pop-up blockers, and download accelerators. If you are still unable to download, you can go to MY DOWNLOADS where an alternative download link is provided or contact us at 877-406-1261.

Q: Where does the downloaded QuickBooks file save to by default?
A:
When the download is complete, the QuickBooks file will always be saved to your desktop.

Q: Where can I find an online record of my download purchase?
A:
During the checkout process for your purchase, your account information was saved in your online Intuit account. To view the details of your purchase, including re-starting your download, downloading again, or to get any general download information, simply return to the online MY DOWNLOADS page and log in.

Simply visit your MY DOWNLOADS page to see if your product is available for downloading again. Currently, most products are available to download again for a period of up to three years from the initial purchase date, depending on the product and initial purchase terms/conditions. We recommend using Internet Explorer to access MY DOWNLOADS so that you can use our Download Manager.

Q: How can I get a CD-ROM as a backup or replacement for my downloaded product?
A:
If the software you purchased for download cannot be installed or does not meet your satisfaction for any reason visit our Customer Support Center to order a replacement CD-ROM or further assistance.
