Having trouble with your QuickBooks Point of Sale Interactive CD Training?

Review the following technical problems and their resolutions to quickly get up and running on your training software.

If You Can't See the Table of Contents or Video Controls:

Your Windows Display Setting may be set to use Large size (120 DPI).
To adjust this:


  1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. Click the DPI Setting drop–down list and select Normal fonts (96 DPI) for Windows XP and Small fonts (96 DPI) for Windows 2000.
  6. Click OK twice to save settings.
  7. Restart the computer.

If You Can't See the Training Controls at the Bottom of Your Screen:

QuickBooks Interactive CD Training products require a screen resolution setting of at least 1024 x 768 pixels. If you cannot see the controls, your screen resolution may be smaller than 1024 x 768. To adjust your screen resolution:

  1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Make sure your Screen Resolution is set to 1024 x 768 pixels or higher.
  4. Increase the resolution by clicking and dragging the slider to the right.
  5. Click OK twice to save settings.

If the Audio or Video Skips:

Your Windows Hardware Acceleration is probably too high. To fix this:

  1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
  5. Decrease Hardware Acceleration by clicking and dragging the Slider to "None".
  6. Click OK twice to save settings.

If You Hear Audio but Don't See Video :

  1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
  5. Decrease Hardware Acceleration by clicking and dragging the Slider to "None".
  6. Click OK twice to save settings.

If You See Video but Don't Hear Audio:

Ensure your computer volume is loud enough and not set to "mute"

  1. On the Windows Taskbar, click Start.
  2. Select Settings > Control Panel.
  3. Select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" Icon.
  4. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
  5. Adjust the volume to the appropriate level and ensure the mute box is unchecked.
  6. Click OK and return to the seminar.
