There’s been much talk lately about the fiscal cliff, the state of U.S. employment, extending (or not extending) tax legislation, and how it will all affect small businesses in 2013. 2012 proved to be a mixed year for small businesses, and as the nation looks forward to the new year, it’s also important to reflect on the past while planning for the future.

At the beginning of January, Intuit issued its inaugural 2012 Employment and Revenue Summary Report. Below, you’ll find highlights of the report as well as a breakdown of employment growth by state. Click on the image for an enlarged version and see where your state stands.
