The best social media scheduling tools for entrepreneurs

2 min read

We all know just how important social media can be for business growth and brand recognition. However, for the busy entrepreneur, maintaining multiple social media accounts can be an exhaustive and time-intensive process. The answer? Social media scheduling tools.

With over 4 million customers, Buffer is one of the most widely known social media scheduling tools. Originally, Buffer was designed for Twitter, but it has now evolved to include multiple platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and just recently, Instagram. You can try Buffer for free and connect up to three accounts with the ability to schedule 10 posts per month. Anymore than that and you’ll be required to pay a monthly fee.

Hootsuite is a robust program that offers automatic social media scheduling, as well as in depth analytics and content creation. Popular platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are supported, however at this time, Pinterest is not. If you have a more complex social media strategy, you may benefit from Hootsuite’s bulk scheduling tool, which allows you to upload and schedule hundreds of social media posts at once – talk about saving time! Hootsuite is a paid platform but you can sign up to a free 30 day trial.

Looking after Pinterest and Instagram, Tailwind is an affordable smart scheduler that offers detailed analytics and reporting. Originally, Tailwind was created solely as a Pinterest tool, using data to offer an optimal posting schedule based on audience engagement, virality and traffic. In early 2018, Tailwind announced they are now an official partner-approved program for Instagram and can automatically schedule directly to the mobile app.

Essentially a robust editorial calendar, CoSchedule can help you plan, publish and promote social content. It has a number of helpful features including a best time scheduler for optimal engagement and the ability to re-promote your best performing content. Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts can all be connected using CoSchedule and you can trial the program for free for 14 days.

Viraltag gives you the opportunity to schedule social media posts at optimal times. It’s compatible with most major social media networks including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. You can upload, edit and schedule posts in bulk and you have the ability to customise each message and image for the different platforms. Viraltag can also automatically recycle top performing posts. While it’s a paid service, you can sample Viraltag on a 14 day free trial.
