Meet the Square team at QuickBooks Connect Melbourne

2 min read

We are so excited that QuickBooks Connect is heading to Melbourne for the very first time this May. In addition to world class speakers and creative breakout sessions, you’ll also have the chance to chat with our amazing partners, like the talented team from Square. We sat down with Jon Levin from Square to find out more about their business, their product and why they can’t wait to be a part of QuickBooks Connect Melbourne.

Square snapshot

  • Headquarters location: Melbourne CBD
  • Number of employees: Square has more than 3,000 employees globally, with 65 currently in the rapidly growing Aus team
  • Fun fact about company: Square just celebrated its third birthday in Australia but was founded in the US back in 2009 by Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey — Jack is also the co-founder and CEO of Twitter.

Tell us a little bit about Square

Square is the perfect solution for small businesses looking for a simple and affordable way to take card payments — whether that’s in-store at the point-of-sale or online via our ecommerce tools. Our integration with Quickbooks means you can get your transactions organised right in your account, with your fees, item details, and more automatically imported. No more manual data entry!

You’ll be exhibiting at QuickBooks Connect Melbourne on 30-31 May. Tell us what attendees can expect to see from your team.

The Square team will be onsite doing live product demonstrations. Quickbooks Connect guests can also purchase a Square reader at a special discounted price (only at Quickbooks Connect).  Square is much more than just that little white credit card reader. Come say hello at Quickbooks Connect and we’ll tell you all about it!

What excites you about the Australian market?

We love working with Australian businesses. We have had a team on the ground in Melbourne for three years now and it’s one of the fastest moving markets that we operate in. Australian businesses really embrace technology, and as a country we’re very advanced when it comes to contactless payments — we’re excited to help business owners of all sizes accept every way their customers want to pay.

What is your team most looking forward to at QuickBooks Connect Melbourne?

We love talking to businesses and accountants, hearing about their challenges (and wins!) and how we can help them overcome them with Square products and service.

What’s on your team’s Melbourne to-do  list?

We work with so many amazing small businesses right across Melbourne — it’s hard to pick a favourite! If you’re looking for a great coffee check out the brilliant spaces at Everyday Coffee, Gold Drops and Market Lane. For a great lunch, the team love the paninis at Saluministi, salads at Seedling or picking up some ice cream at Pidapipo. Or if you’re on the lookout for somewhere to grab a drink once the QBC festivities are over we love Heartbreaker and Romeo Lane.
