Take your business to the next level at QuickBooks Connect

2 min read

With QuickBooks Connect fast approaching, we’ve been profiling some of the incredible speakers who will be presenting this year in Melbourne. In addition to our mainstage speakers, we’ll also be hosting a plethora of breakout sessions with experts and industry leaders. We sat down with accountant and small business owner, Lauretta Finis, to chat more about her upcoming presentation at QBC, which will help you take your small business to the next level.

Tell us a little bit about you and your business

Over the years, I’ve held various management positions and most recently was a private bank manager for one of the big banks here in Australia – but my true love has always been looking after small businesses and their accounting. I started Quick Bizness Bookkeeping Solutions in 2002, specialising in QuickBooks training & consulting. I’m also the co-founder of QBO Business Hub which offers dedicated support, training and bookkeeping services to Australian businesses using QuickBooks Online.

Moving from desktop back in 2012 to online and cloud accounting with QuickBooks Online, has helped me take care of my client’s businesses remotely from my office. Now, I have a dedicated team of specialists backing me, which allows us to offer a holistic service to our clients.

You’ve been to QuickBooks Connect before – what did you enjoy the most?

I’ve been to QuickBooks Connect here In Australia twice, and I’ve also been to San Jose QuickBooks Connect in America. As much as I enjoy going to QBC in America, I do love having our own QuickBooks Connect here, specifically for Australian business owners and accounting professionals.

From a personal point of view I love going to QBC as I have the chance to catch up with people that I have trained. The speakers are always awesome – I love hearing the stories they tell of where they started to where they are today.

What are you looking forward to at QuickBooks Connect 2019?

I can’t wait to catch up with old friends and make new ones too! I’m also looking forward to hearing from some great speakers and learning more about QuickBooks so I can better help my clients.

You’re presenting at QuickBooks Connect this year. Can you give us a sneak preview of your presentation?

Sure! I’ll be presenting on how to get the most out of QuickBooks for project-based businesses. It’s aimed at small businesses who are experiencing growth and larger businesses that need to better track jobs and projects. I’ll show you how to organise your books and the way you work each day. By keeping all job-related information in the one spot, you’ll be able to make better decisions with accurate reporting.

What’s one thing you hope people take away from your presentation?

I’m hoping that people that come to my session will be able to view a snippet of what and how QuickBooks can help run their business smarter by using smart financials, so they have a better understanding of where they can grow their business.
