What to expect at QuickBooks Connect Sydney

QuickBooks Connect is coming to Australia!

We’re less than a week away from one of the greatest small business events of the year — QuickBooks Connect Sydney.

What is QuickBooks Connect?

QuickBooks Connect is the brainchild of Intuit, the original developers of the QuickBooks cloud accounting product line. They’re the guys responsible for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Self-Employed and QuickBooks Online Accountant. A dynamic team is helping bring to life the prestigious event, held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on May 18, 2017.

QuickBooks Connect celebrates small business owners, accountants, bookkeepers and developers. It’s an event that encourages and demonstrates the network effect in a physical form. Country manager of Intuit, Nicolette Maury, said “we love to provide opportunities for our partner base and small business customers to come and be inspired, to learn from the greatest teachers in the country on growing and running a small business.

It’s allowing us to create journeys towards something new. We’re making history in Australia by running this conference here in Sydney for the first time. Our mission is to power prosperity around the world, and we do that by building innovative financial solutions that give our customers peace of mind. A sense of control. Our QuickBooks Online and Self-Employed products aim to put our small business customers back in the drivers seat, navigating their business life successfully.”

We asked Accodex CEO, Chris Hooper, what he was most excited about. “I’ve spoken at accounting events all over the country, but never have I seen an event that is so intentional on bringing together both the small business owners, financial advisors and the developer community. I believe this is really important as all segments don’t exist in this industry without one another. Credit to Nicolette and her Australian team for being able to bring such an event.”

We caught up with Matt Alderton, CEO and multi small business award winner of Alderton Enterprises, to get his opinion on the importance of these types of conferences. “Small business conferences are ideal for any small business owners who might be feeling stuck, or a little lost in their business.

The whole idea is you come along with an open mind, and allow yourself to be inspired by the success stories of speakers and other attendees. I mean who isn’t excited to hear from Steve Baxter and Michelle Bridges, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. There are so many amazing speakers on the QuickBooks Connect lineup, I can’t decide who I want to see more, but what I do know is that for those attending, their small business lives have an opportunity to change.”

What can you expect at QuickBooks Connect?

Here are 3 things you’re guaranteed to find at QuickBooks Connect Sydney next week:

You will be blown away by the calibre of speakers, the flow of the conference and the people you will meet. The fact that the conference itself is being held at such an iconic place such as the Sydney Cricket Ground is inspiring in itself.

Some of the hardest fought challenges seen by the nation were witnessed right there on the cricket ground. When you think about strategies, the win’s the losses, the emotion Australian’s have felt at that ground. You’re guaranteed to catch all of that when you’re listening the all-star small business lineup.

There is no doubt that you will come away with hundreds of ideas, concepts and resources that you’ll be able to implement into your business. This is one of the biggest reasons why you should attend QuickBooks Connect. You come to learn from the best, so that you can be the best.

Keynote presentations from Michelle Bridges & Steve Baxter are sure to do the trick. You’ll get to hear first hand on how to build a brand and a business with Eugene Tan, founder and director of Aquabumps.

You’ll be amazed at the journey of Alissa & Lysandra Fraser, we first fell in love with them on The Block. When you hear what they’re up to today and the journey they’ve had to take, you won’t believe it. QuickBooks Connect is a place for you to learn and feel the experience.

Excuse the wordplay, but QuickBooks Connect, is about CONNECTING.

Be surrounded by like-minded people who are there to learn how to grow their business, to improve and to tweak. I’ve heard some of the great success stories that started and originated at a QuickBooks Connect. DeathWish Coffee Co, who were a small business in the USA, met their accountant for the first time at San Jose.

Their accountant was able to work with them towards their goals, give them structure and organisation. DeathWish Coffee Co went on to be the winners of Intuit’s Super Bowl competition in which they received an advertising spot at the Super Bowl in front of millions and millions of Americans. It’s safe to say their business has been going gangbusters since! And it all originated from the connection they made at QuickBooks Connect.
