Furthering our commitment to help small businesses and startups succeed, I’m proud to announce that Intuit Australia is officially on board as the first-ever national sponsor for Startup Weekend Australia!
The sponsorship will help deliver a national series of events aimed at providing skills, connections and inspiration for our growing startup community.
For those of you who haven’t heard about Startup Weekend, it’s a global community of entrepreneurs dedicated to helping others with the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.
To date, there have been more than 1800 Startup Weekend events in 120 countries, and the whole philosophy behind them is less talk, more action. They are about enabling, not telling, entrepreneurs how to connect the ideas and people they need to grow a new company and, as the primary sponsor here, we’re excited to be able to connect with hundreds of bright sparks across more than 24 events in 12 locations.
We launched our new relationship on Thursday 20 November at TankStream Labs in Sydney with Parliamentary Secretary for Communications, Paul Fletcher MP, and a panel discussion on the startup state of play in Australia. It was a great night of insights and debate, and set the stage for exciting times ahead as we seek to support the flourishing local startup ecosystem.
Startups have been at the heart of Intuit’s success, and conversely QuickBooks Online has been part of the journey to success for many startups. This makes the collaboration a perfect fit.
