With eight businesses backed so far, Backed by QuickBooks® is on a roll! Here’s a look at two more of our awesome Backed by QuickBooks recipients:
Tiny Acre Farms – Des Moines, IA
Stacy Moeller is a florist who left her corporate job and started Tiny Acre Farms about a year ago. Since then, she has grown and sold local, sustainable cut flowers online and at nearby farmers markets. Stacy recently noticed the growing popularity of food trucks in Des Moines, and was inspired to combine her love of flowers and food trucks to create The Flower Box, Des Moines’ first ever mobile flower truck. Stacy started a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to re-outfit her truck and, thanks to a contribution from QuickBooks, has raised more than $16,000. Stacy is on track to begin operating Tiny Acre Farms out of her new and improved Flower Box truck in spring 2018. Here’s a Tiny Acre Farms to watch.
Kansas City Hatters – Kansas City, MO
Kansas City Hatters is a unique, handmade hat company founded by Jon Akers. Jon has always enjoyed the nostalgia of hats, but felt handcrafted, made-to-measure hats were a luxury of the past. Over the last year, Jon has learned the craft of hat making and became passionate about turning his craft into a full time business. To get enough tools and materials to start his business, Jon started a Kickstarter campaign and, with a contribution from QuickBooks, raised more than $16,000. He plans to use his funding to purchase an automated table top crown spinner and several new crown blocks so that he will be able to produce a wider variety of hat sizes and styles. In addition to QuickBooks’ financial contribution to these businesses’ crowdfunding campaigns, QuickBooks is providing each of these businesses with QuickBooks swag, a new laptop, five hours with a QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and other prizes.
