Small business owners must step back to delegate and outsource to their staff

QuickBooks® Live Bookkeeping surveyed small business owners about how the coronavirus forced them to shift operations. Many respondents’ revenue grew from 2018 to 2019, yet most (88%) say COVID-19 has affected business operations and almost a quarter (23%) are taking on more day-to-day tasks.

Owners reported spending an average of 31 hours a week on day-to-day operations –payroll and sales lead the list – when they’d rather be looking at their businesses’ big picture. And, almost two-thirds say their businesses would be better positioned if they could take a step back and have less stress. Yet, almost all surveyed hesitate to delegate.
