What is a Push Promotional Strategy?

0 min read

A push promotional strategy, also called a push marketing strategy, occurs when businesses actively attempt to take their products directly to the customer. In a sense, marketers “push” their products onto consumers, even if those consumers don’t want to see them. There are many ways that push strategies can be employed, but the following six are the most common:

*Trade show promotions*Direct selling in showrooms or face to face*Negotiations with retailers to display product*Supply chain efficiencies with retailers*Attractive packaging design*Point of sales displays

Effective implementation of push strategies should not be too invasive, otherwise the prospect will be “pushed away.”
