How to Become a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Canada

0 min read

The Chartered Accountant designation is one of the most widely recognized accounting designations across the globe. Established over 150 years ago, it was the first formal accounting designation of its kind. Becoming a CA takes years. Earning a bachelor’s degree through an approved program with specific courses of sufficient difficulty is a prerequisite. The steps also include:

  • 30 months of full-time active employment that is competency-based in the field.
  • Completion of four education modules during full-time work experience.

The final step is the completion of the Uniform Evaluation. The UE is a three-day-long exam testing knowledge and competency in accounting.
