How to Use PromoSimple to Build Customer Relationships

An online contest or promotion is a great way to engage existing customers, generate buzz around your business, and conveniently build up your contact list. You don’t have to do all the work on your own – instead, use PromoSimple to create online contests to promote your business.

Get Started

To sign up for a PromoSimple account, you need your email address, website URL, company name, and a password. Once you make an account, you can start creating promotions. To launch the promos, however, you need to subscribe to the service. The company charges a monthly fee that varies based on the type of account you need and the features you select.

Create a Contest

To create your first contest, sign into your PromoSimple account and select Campaign. Start by naming the campaign. At this point, you should see a series of tabs. Work your way through these tabs and fill out the blanks as prompted.

For example, under Basic Info, note the prize, the number of winners, and the dates of the promotion. The required section allows you to define what contestants need to do to enter the competition. For example, you may require customers to provide their email address, follow you on Twitter, and share the contest on their Facebook profiles. Finally, you can customize the rest of the details you want to appear on the entry form.

Putting the Promo on Your Website

When you are done filling out the promo template, PromoSimple generates a code you can use to put the promotion on your website. Copy the code to your clipboard, then paste the code into the HTML editor of your website. The process may be slightly different depending on whether you are using WordPress, TypePad, or another type of platform.

Marketing Your Contest

When you finally put the promo on your website or even before the official launch, you need to let as many people know about the contest as possible. Ideally, you should tap into your existing marketing channels first. If you have a mailing list, send out notifications about the contest and instructions on how to enter. If you advertise in a local print publication, include a small blurb about your contest. Also, blog about the contest and share posts on your social media accounts.

Additionally, you should also explore the marketing features offered by PromoSimple. In particular, when you create your promotion, you can opt to add the refer-a-friend feature. With this feature, contestants can invite their friends to sign up for your promo. To incentivize this behaviour, consider offering a free contest entry to anyone who refers a friend. This can be an extremely effective way to garner more excitement about your campaign.

Analyze the Results

When your promotion is over, you should contact the winners and post about them on your website. However, you should also take some time to analyze what worked. PromoSimple provides you with a range of details, such as the number of entrants and when they entered. Use these results to guide how you create your next promotion.
