Accounting Tips: Manage Interruptions

0 min read

Perhaps the best way to manage interruptions is to minimize them or avoid them completely. While working on an important project, especially when deadlines are involved, distractions are the last thing you need. If possible, find some isolated space in the workplace to complete your tasks. Working from home is a great perk that also ensures that you can’t be disturbed by co-workers. Do you have an office? Close the door and request that only urgent matters be brought before you.

Technology can be both a boon and a hindrance to productivity. Be sure to use airplane mode on your mobile phone and the do not disturb button on your landline. Completely shut down your email and add an appropriate automated response. Apps such as Freedom allow you to block annoying websites on a regularly scheduled basis. There are only so many hours in the day, so use them wisely.
