We’re sad you want to cancel your QuickBooks Online account. However, I’m here to make the process easy for you.


Please follow these steps I’ve laid out below:

  1. Sign in as an Admin to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select the Gear icon, and choose Account and Settings.
  3. Click Billing and Subscription.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel (paid subscription) or Cancel Trial (if you’re using a trial).
  5. Select Continue to Cancel, then Continue to Cancel again.
  6. Finally, answer the exit survey questions (to help us make QuickBooks better), then scroll down and select Confirm Cancel.

Welcome to the Community. I don't want to see you go, but I can show you how to cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription.

 

Here's how:

 

1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.

2. Select Account and Settings.

3. Choose the Billing and Subscription tab from the left navigation menu.

4. Click the blue Cancel link beside of the word "Subscribed" showing for the Subscription status.

5. You'll then be prompted to change your plan, call in, or cancel.

6. If you're sure, select Continue to cancel.

 I’ve asked to cancel my subscription and I was following the prompts but it should look up in the right-hand corner you need something that was not there and I keep going round and round and eating the same things over and over please I’d like to cancel my subscription it shouldn’t be this hard

Regardless of whether you're using a paid or trial suscription, you can cancel the account yourself from the Account and Settings page. Here are steps to guide you through:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then Account and Settings
  3. Choose Billing and Subscription.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel (paid subscription) or Cancel Trial (if you are using a trial).
  5. Pick Continue to Cancel, then Continue to Cancel again.
  6. Scroll down and click Confirm Cancel.

You can contact our QuickBooks Online Care Support  to cancel it for you. You can also follow the steps below.

 

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. On the upper right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Choose Accounts and Settings.
  4. On the left navigation menu, select Billing & Subscription.
  5. In the QuickBooks section then Subscription status, click either Cancel trial or Cancel
    • Cancel Trial = trial subscription
    • Cancel = paid subscription
  6. On the pop- up, click Continue to cancel then Continue to cancel again on the next page.
  7. At the bottom of the page, Click Confirm Cancel.

I'm in the same boat. I've been trying to cancel my account for days with nothing but the run around. I follow the instructions and it always brings me to a page to call customer service....which I've done multiple times and sat on hold for over 30 minutes each time before I had to hang up to go into an appointment with a client. I started with the receipt email and clicked the 'form' to cancel, it sent me to the page with a phone number. Followed 3 separate 'how-tos' on the forums and sent me to a page with a phone number....sitting on hold yet again while I type this. It feels like a scam. PLUS I just read there is no pro-rated refund after 60 days, QB just gets to keep my $488 as a reward for bad customer service?! I almost made the cut off....if they would have answered their phones in a timely fashion or set up the website to actually cancel the subscription.  This is no way to run a business. I feel like I'm going in circles to never get anywhere.

Thanks for sharing and letting me know your experience when cancelling the subscription. I can see the urgency of getting this resolved, and I hope there's more that I can do to make it up to you. 

 

Due to the tax season coming in, our phone specialists are stuck with a lot of call volumes, which is why the wait time is longer than usual. It's good that you've used the receipt form to request for a cancellation via email.

 

Once submitted, our dedicated team will work on creating a case documentation and processing the request right-away. Also, they'll escalate it to a higher support to apply for a pro-rated refund. You will receive a message from them through email about its status as soon as possible. 

 

To protect the privacy of your account, I can't dig deeper on personal billing details, refund, or expense requests here. But, if you have any general questions about QuickBooks, I'll do my best to answer them for you. 

 

If you want to double-check your request, you'll want to contact us again. I know you've tried calling in several times but this is the only way we can provide such help. You can copy and give them this case number so you don't need to re-explain the situation; 529488777.

Let me jump right in and help with you account, Yampue.

 

We're not able to cancel any account in the Community. You will need to log in to QuickBooks Online and cancel the subscription from there. You can still follow the steps provided in the previous replies of this thread. 

 

If the account is within the trial period, it'll be cancelled automatically after 30 days. Then, your data will be deleted after 90 days.

In case you can't log in to your account, follow the steps given by my colleagues to contact phone support. They will need to access your account so they can cancel it for you.

I want to make sure you're able to cancel your accounts right away. The steps for cancelling QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscriptions are listed below:

 

Canceling an Online Subscription

  1. From QuickBooks Online, click the Gear icon (⚙) and select Account and Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Billing and Subscription tab. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize your cancellation.
