Re: Is it possible to import bank rules from an excel file into quickbooks?

Hi there, amit2!

Yes, it is possible to import bank rules using an excel file into QuickBooks. Just follow the steps below.

  1. Select Banking from the left menu, and go to Rules.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow in the New Rule button, and select Import Rules.
  3. Select Browse to navigate and upload the Excel file.
  4. For you to finish importing the bank rules, select the rules and details you want import and follow the prompts.

For more information, you can visit this link: How to Set and Use Banking Rules for Downloaded Transactions.

I’ll be around if you need anything else. Have a great day!

Thank you for the help.  What format does the excel file need to be in? For example what columns need to be in the file and what exactly does the columns need to be named?

I'm happy to help you import your own bank rules, amit2.

On your Excel sheet, you"ll need a column for the Rule Name, Rule Conditions, and Rule Outputs. There is an existing rule on the Rules page. You can export that to Excel to see the format. Then, just change the rule name and import it back to the Rule page for your practice.
