It is not finding the "Match" for a Sales Tax Payment that was recorded on a J.E. It is asking me to "add" it as an expense. Won't let me reconcile if I exclude it.

Hello firststreetaleho,

We can use the Find match option to search for the journal entry. This way you can reconcile the tax payment. Here's how:

  1. From the Banking page, click on the Sales Tax Payment.
  2. Choose Find match
  3. In the Show drop-down, choose Journal entries.
  4. Change the From and To date.
  5. Look for the JE and click on Save.

Please note that if the journal entry has multiple items aside from the tax payment, QuickBooks won't be able to match this bank transaction. You'll have to edit the JE and remove the tax payment from there. Then, create a new JE for the Sales Tax Payment alone.
