Learn how to edit matched or added transactions downloaded from your bank after you review them in QuickBooks Online.
After downloading your recent bank and card transactions, QuickBooks matches them with transactions you’ve already entered or starts a new record for you.
Occasionally, you may match the wrong transactions or categorise them into the wrong account. If you want to make changes after you’ve reviewed your downloaded transactions, you can edit them or move them to another account. Here’s how.
Do you regularly reconcile your accounts? If so, be sure to edit your transactions before you reconcile.
If you already reconciled the transaction you want to unmatch or edit, reach out to your accountant for advice. Or, you can unreconcile the transaction and then make your corrections.
If you need to move a transaction to a new account, simply change the account from the transaction window.
If you want to get rid of an added transaction entirely and start from scratch, you can Undo it.
