Hey there, Warpig BBQ.
I'm here to ensure you'll be able to get rid of the error when importing records into the PayPal app.
To get rid of the error message when importing transactions, please make sure to follow the instructions below:
1. PayPal hasn't already been connected by another user.
2. That you are a master or company admin user in QuickBooks Online (only admins or accountants can connect the app).
3. The PayPal credentials are for a PayPal admin user (not only an authorized user).
If the steps above have been validated and you're still unable to fix the problem, please give us a call. Our Phone Support Team can further assist you using the required tool in a secure environment.

I'm here anytime you have question with the PayPal error. Please let me know by clicking the Reply option below.
I was not able to resolve it. I hit the wrong button on the post and couldn’t unclick it. I had to delete the account because I couldn’t get it to connect.
Watching for update as well. I have been battling this issue for the past week. Somehow I have a second paypal (it's the same account) linked to quickbooks and it works fine. I tried to delete it, but it will not let me.
The other issue is how paypal sends over the transactions. I have to go into each transaction manually and delete the "tax amount" line from each one because it does not show sales taxes collected in quickbooks. This is a PITA, but I finally got it down to a little over 200 before this happened.

Thanks for letting us know about the situation you're currently experiencing. Allow me to share the information I received about the error.
I found out that our engineers are all hands on deck working to resolve the issue. While I can't provide you a specific time frame when it will be fixed, rest assured as soon as we have an update, we'll let you know via email.
In order to do so, you'll need to call so that one of our QuickBooks Online Customer Care specialists can your company as one of the affected users.
If you haven’t turned on the Sales Tax feature, make sure to set it up first in your account. This way, the sales taxes collected will show up in QBO.
If Sales Tax is already activated, then it is mapped upon setup. If you want to edit the rate, let me provide you the steps.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help. Please know that I'm here to make running your business more simple. Have a good one.
I had the same error message so I deleted the paypal account and was going to try and readd it and now I have even more of an issue. It won't let me readd it because it says there is already a paypal connection. But when I go into chart of accounts and make it active it does not show up on my banking tab. I was told by a quickbooks rep to have paypal delete the connection so I called paypal and they said it was deleted but i am still getting the same error. I don't know what to do. I was having an import issue which apparently they are working on but made it worse by deleting it and now don't know how to undelete it... Tried the simple make active and did not work.
I can provide you with some updates about the error message you're getting when connecting to PayPal app.
I would like to inform you that this has already been escalated to our engineering team. Although we don't have a specific time frame as to when and how this will be mediated upon, rest assured that this is being looked into.
For now, as a workaround, if the account is not supposed to be connected or is showing in App CSR as not connected, here's what you can do:
In case you’ve not been added to the list of affected users, I’d suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Team. As soon as an update is received, I, or another member of the Community Team, will be happy to update this thread and let every know so that you can get back to business.
We thank you for your patience. Have a good one.
