Can you run QB pro 2017 as one company and QB pro 2017 with POS v18 as a different company?
I want to run my new on line business in QB2017 Pro. I already have a company established in 2017 with POS V18 for my shop. Can I do this and keep them separated inventory wise and money wise by opening a new company? Also will it put sales tax reports and the like together or do them separately?

QB Desktop Pro and POS are Programs. Each of these manage Company Data Files.
When you launch QB "Financial" you control which Company File to work in. I work in at least 6, throughout the week. Do you use Word? Word is a Program. You use it to manage Letters. Letters are the data files.
If your new business is its own FEIN, that is a New Company. If that is not going to be run with POS, then you never link them. You simply use that one data file "stand alone" on QB Pro.
