Payroll Liabilities Skipped a Quarter

I installed QB Pro 2016 on new machine over Christmas. Federal Tax Liability payment for Q4 2018 was correct however TX Unemployment Insurance had skipped forward to Q1 2019. How or can I reset the TX Unemployment Insurance for Q4 for 2018 so that I can pay it correctly?

You'll want to change the payment frequency from the settings, KPKopf.

Here's how to do it:

  1. From your Home Page, click Pay Liabilities icon.
  2. Scroll towards the bottom, then click Change Payment Method.
  3. The QuickBooks Payroll Setup window will open, click Schedule payments.
  4. Select TX Unemployment, then change the Payment (deposit) frequency drop-down.
  5. Click Next until Finish.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm here to help you some more.

Have tried the solution you suggested the only option in the drop down is "Quarterly (Usual Frequency)" there is no other option is available. I click finish and the date for Q1 2019 is still showing. Any other thoughts

Re: Payroll Liabilities Skipped a Quarter

Let me jump right in and provide another option, KPKopf.

The date of the liability might have been changed accidentally. You can run the Audit Trail report to check who made the changes. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2.  Look for Accountants and Taxes, then click Audit Trail.
  3. Look for the liability payment and go to the Date columns and review if there are changes made.

Also, if the payment was not sent through E-pay, try to delete the check. Then, recreate the liability payment and make sure the dates are correct.

Let me know if you have other questions. I'd be glad to help you again.
