1099 Vendor does not show on the 1099 Summary Report

Fix a 1099 Summary Report that's not showing your selected vendor by making sure your vendors, accounts, and their thresholds are set up correctly to create 1099 reports and forms.

Show Vendors that aren't 1099 Vendors

Set the 1099 options in the 1099 Summary report to show vendors that are not 1099 vendors.

  1. Select the first 1099 Options drop-down, then choose All vendors.
  2. If you see the Vendor you're looking for, make them a 1099 Vendor.
    1. From the Vendors menu, choose Vendor Center.
    2. On the Vendor Center window, double-click the vendor name.
    3. Go to the Tax Settings tab.
    4. Put a check mark on the Vendor eligible for 1099 box.
    5. In the Vendor Tax ID field, enter the vendor’s tax ID.
    6. Select OK.
  3. When all your Vendors are fixed, select the first 1099 Options drop-down and choose 1099 vendors.

Show Accounts that aren't 1099 Accounts

Set the 1099 options in the 1099 Summary report to show accounts that are not 1099 accounts.

  1. Select the second 1099 Options drop-down, then select All allowed accounts.
  2. If you see the Vendor you were looking for you need to find the Account and make it a 1099 Account.
    1. Double-click the amount in the Total column for your Vendor.
    2. In the 1099 Detail report make note of the Accounts in the Account column.
  3. For these transactions to show up on 1099 reports and forms, you need to make them 1099 Accounts.
    1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
    2. In the Preferences window, select Tax:199 from the left pane, then go to the Company Preferences tab.
    3. Select the link click here next to If you want to map your accounts to boxes on form 1099-MISC.
    4. The Map vendor payment accounts window displays all accounts used for payments to 1099 vendors. From the apply payments to this 1099 box drop-down, choose one of the 1099-MISC boxes. Note that contractor payments mostly go to Box 7.
  4. When your Accounts are fixed, close the 1099 Detail report.
  5. Select the second 1099 Options drop-down, then select Only 1099 accounts.

Find thresholds to set

Set the 1099 options in the 1099 Summary report to ignore thresholds so you can make necessary threshold adjustments for your vendors.

  1. Select the third 1099 Options drop-down, then select Ignore thresholds.
  2. If you see the Vendor, they have not met the threshold.
  3. If this is a 1099 Vendor using 1099 Accounts, you need to enter more transactions or change the thresholds.
    1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
    2. On the Preferences window, select Tax:1099 from the left pane, then go to the Company Preferences tab.
    3. Select the link click here next to If you want to map your accounts to boxes on form 1099-MISC.
