When you process a credit card transaction in QuickBooks Online, you get an error message that says: Expired Card.
This message usually appears when:
The card is expired and is no longer active.
The expiration date saved in the Customer Center is incorrect.
The date on the computer is incorrect.
To fix this problem, you need to determine which of the possible reasons mentioned above is causing the problem, then follow the steps listed below:
If the credit card is expired and is no longer active. Advised the customer to contact the issuer of the card to request for a new one.
If the expiration date saved in the Customer Center is incorrect.
If the date on the computer is incorrect. Change the date to the correct date. Even though the invoice shows the correct date, the card still gives an expired card error if the date on the computer is incorrect.
Select the date in the System Tray, usually located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Select Change date and time settings.
Choose Change date and time.
Select the correct date from the Calendar icon, then select OK to close the windows.
Restart your QuickBooks, then process the payment.
