QB 2011 file - open/convert to QB 2019?

We just bought QB2019. I have an older desktop running QB2011. If I create a backup file from 2011, will the new 2019 version convert and open it without any problems? Or do I need some sort of conversion tool?

Upgrading the file may work fine.  It is supposed to.

If you run into errors. then you may need to update to a version in the middle of the two first.
