Activate QuickBooks Desktop for Windows

Learn how to activate or register QuickBooks Desktop after you install it.

After you install QuickBooks, you should activate it before getting started. QuickBooks will prompt you to activate, but you can also activate it manually with these steps.

To activate QuickBooks:

QuickBooks 2017 and newer

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. From the Help menu, select Activate QuickBooks.
  3. Follow the steps on the screen to verify your info.

QuickBooks 2016 and earlier

If you registered QuickBooks in the past, contact us for the validation code.
