Before you fall into a sugar coma this afternoon, let's talk about how you can TREAT your clients with a high-end experience that delights them even more than their favorite Halloween goodie. Maybe you can pick them up in a limo and take them to lunch at a favorite spot... Maybe you can send them a gift of their favorite wine in a box with their logo printed on it... See where I'm going with this? Get creative to CELEBRATE your clients and also to offer premium services with premium pricing. Super fun for them and super fun for your bank account!

I am actually taking one of my clients out to a new brewery in town tonight. Very impromptu "meeting" to discuss business for a minute and then work on continuing to build a solid relationship. Relational strength is just as important as being knowledgeable and skilled...typically it is the great separator between you and the competition when all other variables are equal or similar.

Hey @Peter_G_Stone! Love this!! Combining business with pleasure (or pleasure with business in this case!) is always a winner.  Also connecting away from an office environment is optimal to build real and lasting relationships. I have to ask - was the beer orange? Smiley Wink

For me, the little things are always being available to my clients.   It is in the package I see to them. Sometimes the conversations run from QuickBooks to personal things.  But being that lending ear is key.  I think they just need someone to listen to them.

@JulieatTheWELL, it was definitely a solid relationship building night. I have a very good business relationship with this client already, but we definitely learned a lot more about each other on a personal level, which I'm all for. I value relationships and don't want to be in business with clients who don't value them as well...

 

And no, this craft brewery is one of the few in NH that isn't mass producing "juice bombs" Smiley Wink They create more traditional IPAs, and European styles, have great food, and awesome ambiance. The establishment has actually been in my cross-hairs for awhile to approach as a client because they would be an ideal fit for me with the services I provide...so I guess last night could be considered both a relationship building event and reconnaissance mission Smiley LOL
