Ghost budget items

Two items appear in my budget report that aren't actually IN my 2019 budget. I can easily clip them from the spreadsheet I create of the report, but WHY are they there and how do I get rid of them? They do not have actuals in them, only budget amounts across 2019. I have rebuilt the database hoping that would take care of it, but it hasn't.

Re: Ghost budget items

When you create a budget, the system will ask you on how to create it, kcarlbot.

It might be you've selected Create a budget from scratch. Hence, the two items are displayed when you run the Budget vs. Actual report.

Though we cannot remove the items, we can delete the incorrect budget and create a new one:

To delete:

  1. Click the Lists menu and then select Item List.
  2. Select the items you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete Item.

Create a new budget:

  1. Go to the Company menu, select Planning & Budgeting, and then Set up Budgets.
  2. Click Create New Budget.
  3. Specify the year and type for the new budget.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose one on the Additional Profit and Loss Budget Criteria, then Next.
  6. Click Finish.

I have another helpful article here that you can check:  How to create, edit, and manage budgets.

I'm always around if there's anything you'd like to ask. Have a good day!
