Congratulations on your upgrade, @082762.

I’m here to help retrieve the missing company files.

Since you just installed the latest QuickBooks version, restore the company files to get them to show on the No Company Open screen. Here’s how:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. On the No Company Open screen, click Open or restore an existing company. (See screenshots)
  3. Choose which file type you want to open or restore and click Next.
  4. Continue with the process until you are able to restore the file.
  5. Follow steps 1-4 to open the rest of the company files.

You can find a copy of your files in the Downloads folder. Simply, press the Windows Key + E, choose This PC and then Downloads to locate it.

Check out this article for reference: Restore your file.

That should get you pointed in the right direction.

Keep me updated on how that goes for you. I’m always here to help. Take care!

This happens because QB versions don't share the recent company list.  To build it up again, open each file and then it will be added to the list of recent companies.
