I am the President of a Homeowners Association (HOA). I have Quickbooks 2016 on my desktop PC. I want to duplicate the company file to put on a laptop for the HOA Treasurer.
I used the Move Quickbooks to a New Computer function and it proceeds quickly past 25%, 43% then it gets hopelessly stuck at 63%. It has been there over an hour as I type this. The LED on the flash drive is pulsing as if it's writing, but there are no temp files on the drive and hitting cancel doesn't even warn me. It just cancels as if it was not doing anything at all. I checked integrity of the company file following a cancel and it says it was ok.
I know there are other ways to copy to the laptop but I have scans associated with the unit owners' accounts which I need to retain in the duplication. Unless there is another way to keep that structure using an alt method?
Quickbooks and the company file are on an SSD so the data transfer rate is high.
The Flash drive is a 32GB USB 3.0 with 29GB free which should be 10x more than I need.
Anyone have an idea of how to make this actually finish copying the files or an alt way to do this AND retain the scans?
