I'm happy to help you start a new QuickBooks Desktop company file.

If you want to create a new company file from scratch, please follow the steps below:

  2. On the No Company Open window, choose Create a new company.
  3. Select Express Start or Detailed Start.

  3. After creating your company file, you can start creating your customers, chart of accounts and services or you can do it later by choosing Start Working.
  • Detailed Start
  1. Fill out the Easy Step Interview screen, then select Next.
  2. Choose your Industry, then Next.
  3. Identify your type of business entity, then select Next.
  4. Set the first month of your fiscal year, then choose Next.
  5. Set up your QuickBooks administrator password, then click Next.
  6. Choose the location where you want to save your company file, then click Save.
  7. Choose Next to customize your QuickBooks or you can do it later by selecting Leave.

However, if you want to create a new company file from existing one. You'll have to back up your company file and restore it in QuickBooks Desktop.

The information above should help you start a company file. If you have other questions, I'm happy to answer it for you. Just post it here as a comment and I'll take a look at it. Have a good one.
