Upgraded from 2016 to 2019 - paid for but didn't seem to load my two companies

I have been using QuickBooks For Mac 2016 version. I paid for upgrading to 2019; however, it doesn't seem to have uploaded all my data (I use it for two companies). What do I need to do?

Hi there, @awiddess.

Thank you for upgrading your QuickBooks. I can help you upload all your data in the QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2019.

Before we begin, make sure that your QuickBooks is updated and you comply with the system requirements. When using the newer version, you'll have to save your company file to your Documents and restore it.

Here's how to restore a file:

  1. From the QuickBooks menu, select Preferences.
  2. Choose Attachments.
  3. Click Attached Documents Library menu and choose Select Existing.
  4. Select the Attached Documents Library folder.
  5. Close the Preferences window.

For visualization and additional insights, you can refer to this article: Restore a backup (.dmg) in QuickBooks Mac.

That should help you upload and open your data on the QB Mac 2019, awiddess. Let me know if there's anything else you need or you have additional questions. Just leave a comment below. Wishing you all the best.
