How do I change the cover letter on a template - not the template itself

I need to change the cover letter that goes out with the invoice.  I don't need to change the actual invoice template.  How do I do this?

You can create your personalize cover letter or email body when sending invoices without changing the transaction template in QuickBooks Desktop. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  2. From the left, choose Send Forms.
  3. Click Company Preferences.
  4. Select E-mail on the Delivery Method Default drop-down.
  5. Choose Invoices on the Email Templates drop-down.
  6. Pick Add Template.
  7. Enter a Template Name and place a check mark next to Default.
  8. Create your own email template and click Save to record the changes.
  9. Hit OK to exit the screen.
