Magtek card reader not working using a remote server

We recently swapped over to a remote server, and our credit card reader is no longer working.  Is there a patch for this, or will it not work through a remote server?

Good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community. I'm here to help provide some insights about the USB Magtek card reader with a QuickBooks payments. 

 

Once you plug in the device to the computer that will be processing credit cards through an Intuit QuickBooks payments account, the USB card reader must be plugged directly into the computer that will be submitting transactions to Intuit. USB hubs and/or remote (VPN, terminal server, etc.) connections to the payments account application are not supported.
