I'm just getting started with my bookkeeping consulting business and have a question on whether or not to offer payroll.
I am familiar with the two Quickbooks Payroll options, which are great, but I keep remembering something a payroll processor said when I was in business, that they would take the full liability if anything went wrong with the payroll taxes.
So, I guess that makes me nervous. I would obviously guarantee my work, but I'm trying to imagine the worst case scenario if I offered payroll to my clients and something went wrong. I'm trying to weigh the consequences of offering Payroll services to my clients or advising them to use a third party service.
