Profit and Loss Report not showing all/correct sales

Please help!  I run an Auto Parts Store using QB POS v.18 and QB Desktop.  After transferring data between the two, I print out a P&L.  However, the daily P&L report doesn't list all sales for that day and some of the sales are incorrect.  Any advice on troubleshooting tips?  I recognize the reports do not include any taxes, but many of my sales are not even listed on the report?  I appreciate any advice from the community!

Re: Profit and Loss Report not showing all/correct sales

Hello there, AmericanMotorsports.

To successfully import the data, let's make sure the templates and formats are correct to prevent errors when transferring the file. Though in your case, it looks like the sales tax feature isn't turned on in QuickBooks Desktop. That could be the reason why some transactions are not imported or incorrect.

First, let's turn on the sales tax in QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Click Edit, then choose Preferences.
  2. Choose Sales Tax.
  3. Go to Company Preferences.
  4. In the Do you charge sales tax? section, choose Yes.
  5. Click OK
  6. The Updating Sales Tax window will pop-up, then choose both or either Make all existing customers taxable and/or Make all existing non-inventory or inventory parts taxable.
  7. Click OK

Then, manually enter the missing transactions. This way, the Profit and Loss of both software will be the same.
