Allow me to chime in. I'm here to provide some information about the QuickBooks Desktop for Mac and Windows compatibility.
When saving the file for your accountant, we call this round-tripping. You and your accountant should be on the same version of QuickBooks so he/she can open your Mac file.
You can go to the link above provided by my colleague, Charies_M, to get the detailed information about QuickBooks compatibility.
That should do it. I'm confident that this will point you in the right direction. Let me know if you have further questions. I'm always glad to help.
so when my accountant tries to open the file they get 2 codes then it shuts their program down. the first is 31197 00540, the second is 06095 20391. so qb for mac is not playing well with qb for windows. I would like to get my taxes done any thoughts
so what are error codes 31197 00540 and 06095 20391 that prevent my accountant from opening the file?
