employee dependents

I'm new to this job and using quickbooks.  Have had another employee ask to have his dependents checked to 0.  I see nothing actually listing dependents.  What am I supposed to be doing?

Re: employee dependents

Allowances is the term. The box is just under the choice of filing status under payroll>taxes in each employee edit screen. Enter 0 for Allowances

Thank You!  Thought that might be it, but wasn't sure.

Re: employee dependents

You should have the employee fill out a W-4 form.  The fields in QB match the form.

Note that I think regulations state that every employee should submit a W-4 to you when hired and then whey they want a change like this.

QB includes the current W-4 form which you can print - from the Employees menu under the tax forms section.

Oh, ok!  Thank you for pointing this out!  I'll find out what's been done.
