printing a 1099

In order to correct an incorrect ss# on a 1099, IRS requires a copy A with the INCORRECT ss# and $0 to be submitted along with the corrected 1099. 

I made a journal entry to zero out the $ (and will reverse it after printing), but don't know how to get the option to print a $0 1099!

 

Can someone help?

Thanks for getting back to us and for clarifying the QuickBooks version you're using. Allow me to step in for a moment and share some additional information about printing 1099-Misc form in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

 

Both Desktop and Online versions of QuickBooks don't have the option to print 1099-Misc form with a $0 amount at this time. You'll need to manually fill out a pre-printed form or a printed PDF copy from the IRS website.

I can see how additional options and functionality would be helpful for both you and your organization and I'm going to submit feedback directly to our Product Development Team for consideration in future updates. I also encourage you to submit feedback as well. They're constantly looking for great ideas from users, like yourself, when deciding how to enhance QuickBooks.

 

Here's how:

 

1. At the top menu bar, go to Help and pick Send Feedback Online.
2. Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
3. Choose Skip and send a message, then select Feedback as the Category.

I want to make sure you can submit the corrected 1099 with a $0 in QuickBooks Online.

 

The option to print a $0 1099 is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to fill out the $0 1099 by hand.

I'm not trying to print using QB online- I'm trying to print from my desktop version!
