Can you search by tags or tag multiple transactions at the same time? I seem to remember in Quicken you can run a report and then edit the transactions in the report?

Welcome to the Community. Allow me to chime in and provide some clarification about the Tags feature in QuickBooks, stephen-helmsdal.

Tags feature in QuickBooks Online are customizable designs that let you trace your money however you want. When you set tags into groups, you get deeper insights into how your business is doing. You’ll need groups to get reports for your tags. There's a way to assign tags to multiple transactions so you don't have to do it individually. I'd be glad to share these steps with you:

  1. Go to the Tags tab under your Banking menu.
  2. Click the See all untagged transactions link.
  3. Select all transactions that you will be adding tags.
  4. Click Update tags, then select Add tags.
  5. Type in the tag that you want to assign.
  6. Click Apply.

To know more about how the Tag feature works, see below articles:

Please let me know if you have more questions about the feature or other concerns with QuickBooks Online. Have a good day!

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I found the Tags menu - it's actually under "Bookkeeping" not "Banking" :) Would be a great feature request if you could add tags in list view rather than having to click to enter each transaction. It also seems you can't sort by the different column headers or even filter by tag (that I could see). It's a very powerful feature that's really useful. Again - thanks so much!
