Thanks for coming to the Community for help, @lindak1119.
I’m here to walk you through how to log out from your account in QuickBooks Online.
Simply go to the Gear icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen and select Sign out. I’m including a screenshot of where it should be in QuickBooks.
That’ll get you pointed in the right direction. Please know that I'm only a few clicks away if you need anything else. Take care and enjoy your day!
Welcome to the Online Community. The browser troubleshooting steps can help resolve unexpected behavior while using QBO.
Let’s sign-in first to your account using the InPrivate window or incognito mode. These features will not store the browsing data, search records, and cookies.
Here are the shortcut keys for each browser:
Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari: Command + Shift + N
If you’re able to see the Gear icon via these sessions, clear the cache of your regular browser to speed up the browsing experience. Should this not work in a private window, I suggest using another browser to help narrow down the cause of this issue.
For future reference, here's an article that can help identify any issues with your browser's health and it's compatibility with QuickBooks Online: Health Checkup.
Reach out to me if you have any other concerns or questions. I’m always ready to assist further. Have a good one.
I have two quickbooks Icons on my deck top. one on the bottom toolbar and one on the desktop. When I try to login by using one of the icons the quickbooks administrator pops up, but when i type in the password it does not work. What am I doing wrong? Is there some other way i need to login to quickbooks online?
Hello, @719-551-9551! Hope your morning is going well so far.
It could be that the icon is linked to the wrong web address for QuickBooks Online. Has it worked for you previously when trying to log in?
Either way, let's start with checking your login information. That's done by going to accounts.intuit.com and logging in with your user ID and password. If you log in successfully, that means your credentials are correct and can be used to log in from your desktop. If that doesn't do the trick, go ahead and reset your password here: https://accounts.intuit.com/account-recovery.html.
