Question

Duplicate transactions. One is from bank feed. The other contains the receipt image.

I have a client who takes pictures of her receipts for QBO.  However she does not match the images to the transactions.  Therefore there are two transactions in the reconciliation screen - one from the bank feed with no image - one that contains the receipt image.

Is there a way to merge the two?

Good day, @KariBeebe.

We're unable to merge duplicates in QuickBooks Online. What we can do is exclude and delete the other transaction to avoid issues in your reconciliation.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and then select Banking.
  2. On the For Review tab, click the checkboxes of the transaction to exclude.
  3. Select Exclude.

To delete the transaction, go to the Exclude tab, place a checkmark in the box, and then click Delete.

I've included an article that'll guide you in reconciling your accounts. This helps you ensure your accounts in match your real-life bank and credit card statements: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

I'll be right here to help if you need anything else, KariBeebeLLC. Have a good one!
