Question

Every time I try to reconcile my credit cards it shows me a difference matching the beginning balance and not the ending balance. Anyone know what's causing this?

Reconciliation may a bit tricky, marcobascimusic. I'm here to guide you with it.

Everytime we reconcile an account, the Ending balance you've entered will be the Beginning balance of your next reconciliation. It should be exactly the same on your bank statement to avoid discrepancies. Incorrect balance can affect your future reconciliations.

Also, it'll change the beginning balance once there's a reconciled transaction that was deleted or modified. On the Reconcile page, you'll see an alert saying that there's a discrepancy. Let's click on it to see the details.

You can check this guides for more details on how to fix it:

If this is a new account, make sure that you were able to enter an opening balance. This can also be the reason why it's showing an incorrect amount when reconciling it.

I'm just one post away if you need assistance. Wishing you all the best!
