Question

How does tag transaction filtering works? It doesn't display the correct transactions when using more than 1 tag. I expect it to further filter the results of the 1st tag

I have some tag groups, and multiple tags within those groups. For instance, I select a tag, I get 10 transactions, I then use another tag that some of the existing results are using, and I would expect to see only the transactions that meet both tags, but instead it continue to shows me the same 10 transactions

A 2nd scenario is selecting 1 tag, getting 10 transactions, then selecting a tag that none of the existing results are using, I would expect it to see zero results, but instead it ignores the 1st tag altogether and displays all the transactions that meet the 2 tag.

This can't be right. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for joining us here, @vacunajr-. Let me provide some insights about how the Tag filter works. 

 

When using the Tag filter and selecting one or two, it gives you the list of transactions labeled with either or both tags. Having the ability to sort them that meets the selected ones would be a great option. I encourage you to add your vote for this one by sending a feature request in the Feedback section within QuickBooks. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Go to the Assistant feature.
  2. Type in Submit Feedback.
  3. Choose Add a feature.
  4. Enter your suggestions.

 

Additionally, you can create rules to speed up your review in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Thanks for the information and suggestion. I just submitted the feedback

It does work as you stated above, but definitely having the ability to sort transactions by only the selected tags would be very helpful.
