Question

Just starting QuickBooks. My bank is in there twice, once for payroll, then I connected Quickbooks to my bank and it separated it into another account no direct deposit

Hi there, @useramy-chealth1.

Let’s check the Direct Deposit (DD) status on the payroll settings and the Accounting preferences. This way, you're able to verify if the mapping is correct.

If you activated the Direct Deposit (DD) then created the bank account in your Chart of Accounts, you can change the payroll settings by mapping the DD bank.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Select the Direct Deposit under the Payroll section.
  3. Click the Edit button. From there, check that all the information is updated.

From the Accounting Preferences:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Payroll Settings.
  3. Choose Preferences at the top of the page, beside Setup.
  4. Click Accounting Preferences.
  5. Check the account used in the Bank Account.
