Question

When downloading transactions with bank feed, QB defaults to use Internet Explorer. Chase isn't supporting IE any longer. Is there a way to change to default?

Good evening, @warehaus.

Currently, the option to change the default browser in QuickBooks Desktop isn't allowed. However, since Chase is no longer supporting Internet Explorer, I recommend importing your bank files using Desktop's web connect files. This will allow you to bring in your bank feeds from your bank's website. The steps below will guide you on how:

  1. Go to your bank's website, login, and download your transactions using a .qbo file.
  2. In QuickBooks, go to the File menu, select Utilities, press Import, then Web Connect Files.
  3. Choose the .qbo file you saved and Open it.
  4. Select Bank Account:
    • Use an existing QuickBooks account if the account is already set up in QuickBooks.
    • Create a new QuickBooks account if the account is not yet set up.
  5. Click Continue. You should see a box telling you that the data has successfully input into your QuickBooks. Hit OK.
  6. Navigate to the Bank Feeds Center to view your transactions.

Now you'll be able to see all of your bank transactions in your Desktop account. You can also check out this article on getting started with bank feeds for further information.
