Question

"Close the books" is set to OFF. It is not giving me the option to turn it to ON. Does this mean I do not have permission to change it? Thanks!

Hi there, @payableskplus.

Thank you for posting to the Community.

In QuickBooks, we can edit the close books and turn it back on if you set it Off. Though, the master admin and company admin only can make these changes.

For more detailed and steps on how to turn on the close books: Edit your closed books

However, if you're the master admin or company admin, we can also perform some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is the web-related issue. To start with you, can access your QuickBooks account in a private window, this mode won't save pages and cache.

You can use these following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox

If it works fine, we need to go back to your original browser and clear the cache to speed up your system performance.

Alternatively, if you continue to get the same result, I suggest using a different browser.

Please let me know if you need more assistance with this. I'll be around to further help you. Have a great day!
