Question

How can I change a contractor to an employee? In 2018 she was 1099'd and now 2019 we have made her an employee and need to integrate BuddyPunch with QuickBooks.

You'll have to set them up as an employee, openhouse.

Though, you're unable to enter the same name. You'll have to enter an identifier. For example, if the vendor's name is Joe Smith, when you add him as an employee, you can either add a middle initial or any syllable that will make it different [Joe Smith (employee)]. Or, vice versa.

Here's how to add an employee:

  1. Click Workers, then choose Employees.
  2. Click Add an employee.
  3. Fill in the necessary fields, then click Done.

I've got you an article for future reference: Online Payroll: Set up or Edit an employee.

In integrating Buddy Punch to our system, you'll have to contact BuddyPunch support to verify if they can sync with QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around.
