Hey there, @MelDaw99.

The option to turn off automatic tax payments depends on which payroll product you have.

If you're using payroll services such as QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll Core, Premium, Elite, you have the flexibility to choose how you want your payroll taxes and form filings to be handle. We can pay and file your federal and state payroll taxes for you, or you can now opt to pay and file them yourself.

Additionally, the automated tax payment and form filing feature is enabled by default if you have these subscriptions. You can turn this feature off and handle taxes manually if you prefer. Here's how:

  1. Click the Settings ⚙ icon and select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Taxes and forms section, clear the Automate taxes and forms checkbox.
  3. Select Save.

Please take note that you can't turn this feature off during January to prevent tax filing issues.

Once done, we’ll let you know when your tax payments and form filings are due. You'll see reminders in your payroll to do list.

However, if you're using the full-service version QBO Payroll, Intuit sends your payroll taxes and forms automatically to ensure your business processes taxes on time. Although, you can reach out to our customer support so they can pull up your account and stop the automated process.
