Question

How do I enter billable time as an owner? I have no employees and don't do payroll. I pay myself on an owners draw.

Hi there, @jason-whiskeycre. Allow me to provide some insights about tracking time entries for owners/members in QuickBooks Online.

You can set up yourself as a vendor. Make sure to set the hourly rate to zero when you set up time tracking. If you have billable expenses turned on, you can move time to an invoice.

  1. Select + New.
  2. Select Single time activity or Weekly timesheet.
  3. Enter all necessary details.
  4. Select the Billable box if you bill customers for the number of hours consumed.
  5. Select Save and close.

Refer to this article for more info: How to turn on and set up time tracking.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the owner’s draw is not taxed when it is taken out of business. However, you need to pay taxes on such draws while filing personal tax returns.

I'm always around should you have further questions. Have a good one.
